Our Editorial Guidelines
Before submitting pitches to TPE, please read over our Editorial Guidelines. These guidelines are in place to maintain a high quality standard. Plus, it’ll make things easier on you and our editors when it’s time to hit “publish.”

How to Submit Pitches
Please send pitches for well-researched, interesting content to sarah@theportaleditorial.com or via the contact form below.
Your pitch must include:
- Email subject line that includes “TPE Pitch” and your name (E.g., TPE Pitch – Jane Smith)
- Your proposed topic, a few sentences about your topic, and why you feel it will be a good fit for TPE readers
- Link(s) to recent, relevant writing samples (extra points if you have a byline on a live piece for a similar publication)

Follow the Editorial Guidelines and email your pitch for an open-submission topic.
We Review
We carefully review your pitch and determine if it’s a good fit for TPE readers.
Edit and Publish
Once approved, we’ll enter a formal collaboration partnership. You write; we edit and publish.
TPE Contributor
Your post is live! We will set up an author’s bio for you, and you’ll be a contributor.
